So I took a break from blogging because we were in the process of moving and moving is a lot more work than I remember. I can't wait to do it again in 5 months.... This new place where we are staying is quite nice and it has a big living room, big TV and a lot of playgrounds and grass so it'll be fun to be here for the summer. Now that we are moved in I can say that I think it was worth the effort.
Today was our first Sunday in our new ward. It was okay, 1st Sunday's are always a little weird with introducing yourselves 100 times, everyone learning everything about you but you can't even remember anybody's names. Well in our new ward today we found out that Brooklyn is one strong little girl! Today at church Brooklyn was next to Jonathan and he leaned forward to grab something from the diaper bag, Brooklyn was standing on our bench and grabbing onto the bench in front of us trying to lean over and see the baby sitting in front of us. Next thing I know Brooklyn had taken a step off of our bench, her feet went down but she didn't let go with her hands. The only thing saving her were her strong arms. She just sat there hanging with her arms bent, it looked like she was doing pull-ups. She didn't cry or whine or anything. Jonathan glanced up at her and was shocked to see her hanging there and quickly helped her. The people behind us were pretty amazed too. She might be a skinny little sucker but that girl's strong!
We were over at Harmony's the other day (taking a break from unpacking) and I brought some pringles over. Emma was playing with a neighbor girl outside but she kept coming in for some pringles. Finally I said, "Fine, you can have some more but you've got to do something in order to get some." I suggested singing or dancing and she said she'd sing a song. She sang "ABC'S" so Harmony, Kenny and I clapped and I gave her some chips. Next time she came in and sang "I'm a child of God". The next time she said she wanted to sing Brooklyn's song... I was confused and asked "how does that one go?" She started bouncing her head and singing a song that I sometimes sing when I change Brooklyn's diaper. It was "Shipoopi" from The Music Man but she changed it up some, she sang, "She's poopy, she's poopy!" Harmony and I started laughing and said, "how does the rest go?" She sang, "She's poopy, she's poopy, she's poopy... Brooklyn is so poopy..." We laughed pretty hard and I said, "that's Brooklyn's song huh?" She shook her head yes and got some chips. I wonder how long that'll be Brooklyn's song?
I sing that song to my babies when I'm changing them too!! My other kids always get a kick out of it. We must be related. ;) It's way funny that Emma has labeled it Brooklyn's song.
